TLU’s Chemistry CHAOS Night: A Delicious Blend of Science Returning Tonight

The Chemistry CHAOS Night at Texas Lutheran University promises a thrilling and mouth-watering experience for everyone. This annual event, which stands for Chemistry Happens with Adventurous Outstanding Scientists, is all about showcasing the fascinating world of chemistry through engaging and interactive activities.

The theme of this year’s event is “The Chemistry of Food and Cooking,” and participants can expect a variety of hands-on experiments that will teach them about the science behind their favorite dishes. Kids from kindergarten through high school, as well as adults who are passionate about cooking, can take part in activities like making biopolymers in the form of rice paper sushi wraps, conducting candy chromatography, and tasting liquid nitrogen ice cream.

Dr. Alison Bray, professor and chair of the chemistry department at TLU, emphasizes the importance of understanding the processes that occur in the world of food and cooking. By participating in these activities, attendees will gain a deeper appreciation for the science behind their daily meals.

Chemistry CHAOS will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Jackson Park’s Student Activities Center today. The event is free for the public to attend and is hosted by TLU’s Pi Rho Chemistry Club. So come join the fun and explore the exciting world of food science!
