Protesters in Amman call for an end to agreements with Israel

Demonstrations against Israel have been held in the Jordanian capital for two nights in a row. Police and gendarmerie worked tirelessly to keep the crowd from approaching the Israeli embassy. According to jo24.net, two demonstrators were arrested after attempting to break through the security forces’ cordon. More than 10,000 people participated in the protest organized by a youth organization.

The participants demanded that the Jordanian government take practical measures to stop Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people. They called for an immediate cancellation of all agreements with Israel, including the Wadi Arba agreement and the gas agreement. Additionally, they demanded a ban on land deliveries of goods from Persian Gulf countries through Jordan and an export ban on vegetables.

Jo24.net reported that demonstrators also believed that Amman should stop military cooperation with the United States, which they held responsible for aggression in Gaza Strip. Furthermore, protesters insisted on opening borders to Jordanian youth who wished to join the Palestinian resistance movement.
