Police in Jordan make arrests on third day of anti-Israel protests

For the third consecutive evening, Jordanian demonstrators gathered in the capital near the Israeli Embassy to protest against Israeli aggression towards the Palestinian people. On March 26, thousands of protesters attempted to approach the embassy but were stopped by police and gendarmerie forces. The protesters are calling on the Jordanian government to take action against Israeli aggression, including cancelling agreements such as the peace treaty and gas agreement with Israel. They also demand a halt to the delivery of goods from Persian Gulf countries through Jordan and a ban on the export of vegetables.

Reports from local media suggest that law enforcement is detaining individuals who disrupt public order during these demonstrations. In addition to protests in Amman, an anti-Israeli demonstration is taking place in Aqaba, where participants are holding pictures of Yahya Sinouar and waving Hamas flags.

The discontent and demands of these protesters indicate a strong sentiment against Israel and a desire for political action by the Jordanian government. These protests reflect ongoing tensions in the region and highlight the impact of Israeli-Palestinian conflicts on neighboring countries like Jordan. The presence of law enforcement at these protests underscores the need for security measures to ensure public safety during these events.
