Hollidaysburg Area High School’s boys tennis team emerged victorious over Altoona on Tuesday, improving their record to 5-0. Altoona, currently struggling with a 1-4 record, managed to secure wins in both singles and doubles play. Hollidaysburg’s Garrett Bouchard and Michael Waibel each earned singles victories, while the doubles team of Alex Arbogast and Jacob Sidney also contributed to the team’s success. Luke Mitchell from Altoona put up a valiant effort in singles play but was ultimately defeated by Ben Johnson from Hollidaysburg. Meanwhile, Central High School secured a dominant victory over Penns Valley in high school baseball, with Mason Byler earning the win in relief. Jay Hoenstine led the Dragon offense with three hits and four RBIs, while Troy McNichol, Griffin Snowberger, and Britton Marko also contributed significantly with three hits and two RBIs each. Despite multiple errors on both sides, Central emerged triumphant thanks to their strong offensive performances. Overall, both teams showcased their skill and determination in their respective sports.
