Israeli Army confirms Hamas’ number 3 killed in Gaza attack last month

The Israeli Army confirmed the death of Marwan Issa, a senior Hamas member and the ‘number three’ in the organization’s hierarchy, during an airstrike in the Nuseirat refugee camp in Gaza. Issa played a key role in organizing attacks on October 7 that resulted in numerous casualties. His death was previously announced by the White House National Security Advisor, Jake Sullivan. Another senior Hamas member, Commander Ghazi Abu Tamaa, was also killed in the same attack.

The targeted airstrikes have disrupted Hamas’ leadership and coordination, further complicating efforts for peace and dialogue. The ongoing conflict has led to thousands of Palestinian casualties in Gaza and the West Bank, with over 32,300 deaths reported by the Ministry of Health in Gaza alone. The situation remains volatile as both sides continue their military actions, with civilians bearing the brunt of the violence and insecurity.

Israel launched its offensive in response to the October 7 attacks, which prompted international concern and condemnation. Efforts for peace and dialogue appear challenging amidst the ongoing violence and bloodshed. The conflict continues to be a major source of instability in the region, with no signs of abating anytime soon.
