Santa Maria Chamber and City Council honor businesses of the quarter at City Council meeting

In the second quarter of 2024, two outstanding small businesses in Santa Maria were recognized by the Chamber of Commerce program. These companies, Arrow Plumbing Drain & Repair Service and Trojan Petroleum, stand out for their exceptional contributions to the city’s economy and community.

Arrow Plumbing Drain & Repair Service, founded by Daniel Keuma in 1991, is a thriving business that has grown from a one-truck operation to a fleet of seven trucks and eight employees. Located at 320 Oak St. in Santa Maria, the company provides services to both residential and commercial customers while actively supporting local events and charities. Their commitment to excellence has earned them recognition as one of Santa Maria’s top businesses for the quarter.

On the other hand, Trojan Petroleum, situated at 1665 West Betteravia Rd., was established by Bud and Ebba Richards 43 years ago and has since evolved into a full-service petroleum distributor. Specializing in delivering fuel to farm locations and job sites throughout Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties, Trojan Petroleum is also an independently owned Pacific Pride cardlock site that employs 15 delivery trucks. The company’s involvement in local civic groups highlights their dedication to giving back to the community.

The recognition of these local small businesses by the Chamber of Commerce program occurs four times a year based on specific criteria for selection. To be eligible, businesses must have fewer than 20 employees, be in operation for a minimum of five years, be physically located within the city limits, and be a member in good standing of the local Chamber of Commerce. This recognition not only provides exposure for these exceptional businesses but also serves as a reminder to the community of the diverse and long-standing businesses that contribute to Santa Maria’s economy.

The full recognition ceremony can be viewed through the City’s livestream of the Tuesday City Council meeting accessible on the City of Santa Maria website. This particular City Council meeting was recorded on April 16th, 2024 at the Santa Maria City Hall Chambers. More information about these remarkable companies can be found on CityofSantaMaria
